A number of readers have asked about Neo4j Tutorials and examples. The good news is that there are tons of them out there.
We have organized Neo4j Tutorials all around the world. This full day of hands-on graph learning includes extensive Cypher labs, an overview of use cases and the opportunity to consult on existing projects, possible implementations and proof of concepts.
The online tutorials are also a great place to start. There are more for Jruby, for embedded, and for the REST API.
Duane Nickull has written an introduction to Neo4j for newcomers, installing and running simple commands with the Neo4j shell, and getting started with Neo4j and Java.
