Payment options

Get started by creating an Aura account. You can cancel the account at any time. Pay as you go (PAYG) has no expiration date, it continues as long as you use Aura.

Usage is billed monthly for the previous month. At every billing cycle, usage from the previous month is priced, invoiced and then charged to your payment method.

You can get billed directly with Neo4j using a credit card as a payment method. Or, you can get billed through GCP, AWS or Azure Marketplace where usage is reported hourly to the marketplace. At the marketplace’s billing cycle, Aura usage is aggregated and charged as part of your cloud bill.

You can commit to using Aura for a minimum of one year and purchase Aura Consumption Units (ACUs).

This requires the Neo4j Sales team. The prepaid option does not renew automatically.

There are two separate channels for purchasing ACUs:

There is no billing integration with marketplaces for prepaid contracts. The contract is executed as a private offer, Neo4j instructs the marketplace to invoice the user for a number of ACUs and nothing else. Neo4j does not provision an Aura environment automatically in this case, does not report usage to the marketplace for these deals, and the marketplace does not keep track of the remaining balance.

Each billing dimension has its own unit of measure, GB-hours, GB-minutes, MB-hours, GB etc. To aggregate and then pay for usage across different dimensions, Aura Consumption Units (ACUs) are used. All Aura resources are priced in ACUs. Users purchase ACUs as part of their prepaid contract, and then use them to cover for the usage that is also expressed in ACU.

Keep in mind that ACUs have a start date and an expiration date. They need to be used before their expiration date, or they are forfeited.

Aura pay-as-you-go customers can receive a credit allowance expressed as a number of Aura Consumption Units (ACU), usually as part of a promotional marketing program.

These credits are then used to offset your Aura usage bill. When all credits are depleted, the remaining usage that was not covered by credits will be invoiced and charged to your payment method.

Credits have a start date and an expiration date. Usage that occurs before the start date will not be covered by credits. If not used by the expiration date, credits are forfeited.

To redeem the credits:

You will see the credit balance on the billing account tile that you applied the credits to. [See Figure 3]

Credit allowances generally require you to have a valid credit card on file.

We do not currently support redeeming credits for Aura subscriptions created through a marketplace (AWS, GCP or Azure Marketplace).
