Session description
The purpose of this talk is to give a general understanding of how the cypher query planner works and the kinds of things you need to know to analyse what takes time in a query processing. I will also give some insight on how to use EXPLAIN and PROFILE to identify what takes time in running a specific query, and give examples for building a better understanding of how cypher works under the hood. Fine-tuning for real-time constraints or other very demanding performance constraints will NOT be addressed. This talk is for a general understanding of difficulties with traverse graphs, hints about how the query planner plans query processing, and some guidelines about the different parameters query processing time depend upon.
Graphs - DB & Visualization - Data Processing & Analysis - Documentation Structuring & Search / Modelling
Languages in their different aspects are the common thread in Véronique’s different experiences : foreign languages, linguistics, NLP and of course formal languages for computer programming. She does data processing and works on the representation of information (databases modelling and visual representations in user interfaces). She started being interested in the graph structure, when studying formal linguistics, has been using a graph based tool for 15 years, to build personal documentation and started to seriously use Neo4j in 2020, to build a multi-source database of geolocalised objects and for documentation projects.
