Session description

In this session, you will learn how we are using Neo4j to model and explore scientific collaboration within Argentina's national science and innovation system. Octavio Zerdá Sánchez will show how complex and messy data from various scientific databases have been integrated, mapped into a knowledge graph, and visualized through an interactive tool. This tool enables users to explore interactions between researchers, thematic areas of study, and institutions. By enhancing access to scientific information, these networks help to identify new collaboration opportunities, ultimately contributing to a more efficient, dynamic, and accessible scientific community for all.

Octavio Zerdá Sánchez

Research Assistant, University of Buenos Aires's Instituto Interdisciplinario de Economía Política (IIEP)

Octavio Zerdá-Sánchez is a senior economics student at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and a research assistant at the CSNetLab (Complex Systems and Networks Laboratory, IIEP–UBA–CONICET), where he applies network science and graph databases to education, science policy, and innovation systems. With experience developing data-driven platforms for universities, he brings a systems-thinking perspective to complex problems. Octavio has studied in Argentina and China, and is passionate about using technology to make public knowledge systems more transparent, efficient, and collaborative.
