The latest milestone release of Neo4j 1.9 consists of many improvements to the internals of the world’s leading graph database.
Some of the featured improvement areas are:
• Cypher – faster query execution for most use-cases while using less memory
• High Availability Cluster – rolling upgrades from 1.8 include improvements in cluster membership protocol and upgrading test-clusters without any downtime
• Kernel – several performance improvements including a new OrderByTypeExpander, which keeps the ordering of type and direction during the traversal
• Server – JavaScript traversals (exposed through the Server REST API) are now sandboxed to be more secure
