The start of Google’s annual Google Cloud Next conference (April 9-11) here at Moscone Center includes several news announcements by the search giant.

Heading the list is a partnership announcement with seven leading open-source cloud services providers, but this is more than an agreement to interoperate and work together. The partnership lets customers use the open-source technologies as fully managed services on GCP.

The partnership covers seven “open source-centric” companies in the areas of data management and analytics: Confluent, DataStax, Elastic, InfluxData, MongoDB, Neo4j and Redis Labs.
