Register Now! We are very happy to announce the very first graph meetup in Durham 15th of January 2013. This will be the third stop on the Neo4j 2013 World Wide Tour with Pernilla Lindh, our World Wide Community Manager, being on site! She loves spreading graph love, knowledge of NoSQL, Graphs and Neo4j. Swag love is guaranteed 🙂 Come and have a beer – and listen about the coolest new tech on the block right now. —- The social graph, a program’s object graph, related products in a catalog, discussions crossing multiple email threads and Twitter – Graphs are everywhere. A graph database let’s you master every angle in your data. We’ll introduce Neo4j, an open source graph database that you can embed, deploy as a server, or use in the cloud. Starting with graph database 101, you’ll leave with an understanding of graph-like thinking, when to use a graph, and what great new magic you’ll be able to add to your development toolbox. How do you get from here to there? With a graph. Join us to learn how. Agenda for the evening 6:30 – Pizza + Networking, etc. 7:00 – Announcements 7:05 – Peter Neubauer one of the Founders from Neo Technology will give us an introduction of NoSQL, Graph databases and Neo4j. 8:00 – paus 8:10 – Questions 8:30 – Good bye and Thanks for the fish! Wed, 16 Jan 2013London Workshop: 1-day Graph Database Hands-on Training
Event Info Location: Open Credo, 5-11 Lavington Street, SE1 0NZ, London UK This 1-day training course will stretch your imagination with an understanding of how Graphs and Graph Databases work within a real world datamodel. Delivered by one of Neo Technology’s Principal Consultants and Lead Developers, there will be plenty of opportunity to get guided hands-on experience using Neo4j. Bring your laptop with an installed Neo4j server to get the most out of the day. At the end of the day you will have a much better, real-world understanding of the technology and what it can deliver.Atlanta Meetup: Neo4j World Wide Tour – 4th Stop! Introduction to Graph Databases

Thu, 17 Jan 2013Antwerp Meetup: Intro to Graph Databases.
Event Info Location: Archimiddle, Veldkant 33a, 2550 Kontich, Belgium Lots of people – specifically IT architects, project and IT managers – have contacted us to get an “introduction” style presentation with regards to graphs and graph databases. So that’s what we want to provide in this session! During this session, we will present, demonstrate and discuss the initial graph database context for people not necessarily familiar with the subject. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to network over a light lunch.Stockholm Meetup: Un-Meetup
Event Info Location: TBD, Stockholm, Sweden In this meetup we don’t have a fixed talk or lab schedule. Instead we will try some thing new and fluid. (hence the name Un-meetup). We split into groups and discuss/collaborate on issues that interest us. Potential groups are 1) Neo4j beginner, up and running ( aka baby steps) 2) Data modelling and Cypher (aka for data nerds) 3) Neo4j in production (aka war stories) 4) Lets make some thing in the few hours (aka hacking) This list is just a suggestion (we can refactor this list, so please comment). The idea is that people who are already familiar with basics can go to the next step, while new folks get a welcome introduction. Date and venue for this meetup are not fixed yet, but will be before end of this year. Let’s start 2013 with a !Webinar: Polyglot Persistence with Neo4j
Register Now! The webinar shows a way to implement polyglot persistence with Neo4j using Service Oriented Architecture. JIBE Apply, a mobile job application solution, uses Neo4j, Elasticsearch, Redis and Amazon S3 to persist different types of data collected during the job application process. In the webinar we talk about the application architecture, design of the graph model and how the services are synchronizing data across the different data stores. Speaker: Tero Paananen, Senior Software Engineer, JIBE.com Tero’s varied background includes interactive agency, hedge fund and Internet startup experience. He has a broad range of skills in software engineering with emphasis in back-end, systems and database integration, API design, Java and Internet related technologies. He’s currently working at JIBE.com and is responsible for the Service Oriented Architecture implementation utilizing various NoSQL databases and Java based web services.New York Meetup: Lessons Learned: Startups and Graph Databases with Aseem Kishore
Register Now! Aseem Kishore of FiftyThree will be speaking about his experiences building an early-stage startup, The Thingdom, on Neo4j and Node.js: why he and his team chose to build on a graph database, how they did it, and what lessons they learned along the way. We’ll also be joined by Neo4j’s Worldwide Community Manager Pernilla Lindh, as the 5th stop on Neo4j’s 2013 World Tour! Aseem’s talk will be technical, but all relevant concepts will be explained. If you’re interested in exploring graph databases, you should have a much better understanding of how to work with them after his talk. Aseem Kishore, Developer at FiftyThree Aseem co-founded The Thingdom, a social network around things that was acquired by FiftyThree in March 2012. As a developer at FiftyThree, he works on tools for mobile creation – such as Paper, FiftyThree’s 2012 Apple Design Award-winning app for capturing freeform ideas.
