One Configuration, Many Imports

Session Track: App Dev

Session Time:

Session description

Before you can enjoy using Neo4j, you will likely need to import data from somewhere that’s not yet a graph. But to do that, there are many considerations to take into account: - Can you afford the transactional overhead of online imports? - Do you need to import data simultaneously, incrementally, or in parallel? And the list goes on. Every import story is different and may require different tooling. To make matters worse, every tool exposes its own configuration surface … until now. Import-spec is a uniform configuration surface that describes how to import graph data from different sources. Since first introducing import-spec at Nodes 2024, we have improved the specification in various ways, including more flexible mapping and easier back-end integration. Join this session to learn how import-spec works, which we will illustrate with demos of imports that are very different in nature but use the same configuration.
