Session description
Traditional Line of Business (LOB) applications rely heavily on RDBMS and SQL, often creating a disconnect between business experts who understand the problem and developers tasked with building the solution. In this session, we introduce a new approach that leverages Graphs and Cypher to bridge this gap. By modeling business logic through semantic relationships, Graph databases allow developers to encode real-world complexity more naturally, reducing the need for extensive application code. As a result, development shifts from backend-heavy implementation to a more UI-focused approach, streamlining the path from concept to deployment. Join us to explore how this paradigm can simplify business application development, enhance maintainability, bring business and technical teams closer together, and create AI-ready systems. In this presentation, we will demonstrate a transactional prototype application written in TypeScript and React using a Neo4j Aura database and explain its concepts. Passionate about Graphs
Marcos Pinedo is a seasoned technology executive with more than 30 years of global leadership experience across SaaS, PaaS, and enterprise software. He began developing deep expertise in relational database technologies (DB2, Sybase, XDB, SQL Server) and software development early. This foundation led him to a 17-year tenure at Microsoft, where he held leadership roles in Consulting Services and Platform Evangelism, helping drive the adoption of emerging technologies. Following his time at Microsoft, Marcos co-invested in and joined a startup focused on building a native graph database SaaS platform. Here, he discovered a deep passion for graph technology, which has only grown, even though the startup ultimately did not endure. Marcos moved on and now actively promotes the adoption of graphs.
