With a career spanning three decades, she is known for her hands-on directorial approach and her knack for solving complex creative-technical challenges.
Michela's development journey began in the mid 80s with the Commodore 64 and in 1993 she set up the first website in New South Wales, Australia. From there, she pursued her passion for storytelling and interactive experience design across a multitude of roles around the globe.
In 2010, Michela founded Mod, a studio that specializes in creating immersive entertainment experiences. Her leadership has seen Mod deliver an impressive portfolio of projects that include virtual production for film & TV, game development, media arts, and web services. Among her notable achievements, she has contributed to the development of software-as-a-service platform Rack&Pin, which today is a cornerstone in Mod's cutting-edge real-time and virtual production management.
Before Mod, Michela founded MOD Films, a cross-media production company recognized for pioneering re-mixable media productions and technology. Her early consultancy work includes contributions to the BAFTA award-winning BBC iPlayer service and Europe's highest valued Internet start-up, boo.com.
Michela is not only a trailblazer in her field but also an advocate for open source software, having advised the UK central government on related policies.
