NODES 2023 – Follow the Money: A Graph Ontology for Anti-Corruption Investigations

How can we use network analysis to find evidence of financial crime and money laundering? In this session, Friedrich will introduce Follow the Money, a toolchain of Python-based graph processing utilities used by investigative journalists and due diligence professionals to track illicit funds, identify persons of interest, and connect the dots in vast datasets of financial, corporate, and criminal network information. He’ll also present OpenSanctions, a core dataset for anti-corruption and anti-money laundering data analytics.
