Rethinking Line of Business Applications: Graphs & Cypher as an Alternative to RDBMS & SQL

Traditional Line of Business (LOB) applications rely heavily on RDBMS and SQL, often creating a disconnect between business experts who understand the problem and developers tasked with building the solution. In this session, we introduce a new approach that leverages Graphs and Cypher to bridge this gap. By modeling business logic through semantic relationships, Graph databases allow developers to encode real-world complexity more naturally, reducing the need for extensive application code. As a result, development shifts from backend-heavy implementation to a more UI-focused approach, streamlining the path from concept to deployment.

Join us to explore how this paradigm can simplify business application development, enhance maintainability, bring business and technical teams closer together, and create AI-ready systems.

In this presentation, we will demonstrate a transactional prototype application written in TypeScript and React using a Neo4j Aura database and explain its concepts. (https://github.com/Flyer-Boy/NewApproach)
