AuraDB Enterprise Now on AWS: Bringing the Leading Graph Platform to the Leading Cloud Platform

Today, we are thrilled to announce the general availability of Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

AuraDB on AWS offers the best of Neo4j technology in an easy-to-use, fully automated, and reliable service on world-class infrastructure anywhere in the world. With AuraDB, customers get real-time performance at scale for their mission-critical applications with no worry about managing the database. With AuraDB Enterprise on AWS, we take yet another step towards a full multi-cloud offering, making Neo4j available everywhere and for everyone.

We reached this important milestone after a highly successful preview with our amazing customers during the first half of the year. It’s been exciting to see our customers use AuraDB to power their intelligent, data-context driven systems with Neo4j, solving the most challenging data problems around customer experience, risk and compliance management, fraud prevention, recommendations, content creation, sustainability, and many more valuable use cases.

Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise on AWS is engineered with our core guiding principles of simplicity, flexibility, security, and reliability that our global enterprise customers need.

Simple
Aura is designed to be easy-to-use, with all database management fully automated, so developers don’t have to worry about learning to manage Neo4j, ever. With AuraDB, users can deploy a database within minutes, scale on demand, get automated backups, and update to the latest patches and features transparently, without any downtime or effort.

As a fully integrated service on AWS, AuraDB supports data connectors out-of-the-box to ensure customers can harness AWS native frameworks and embed our services within their current architecture with ease. AuraDB supports the easy and intuitive Cypher query language, offers flexible white-board friendly schema, and has Neo4j Bloom data visualization and other developer tools built-in.

By purchasing AuraDB through the AWS marketplace, the procurement and billing is simplified, and Neo4j becomes a line item on the AWS bill. Contractual spending commitments with AWS can be used on Neo4j purchases, saving costs.

Flexible
Built on Kubernetes, AuraDB is engineered to deliver consistent experience and performance across any cloud provider and region of choice. Users can seamlessly migrate their data from on-premises to AWS or even to other clouds.

Aura is available globally in all AWS regions that support three availability zones for reliable, fault-tolerant operation. Customers can deploy AuraDB in close proximity to their data, anywhere in the world, and achieve low latencies while satisfying their data residency requirements.

Secure
Aura is secure from the start. Data is fully encrypted end-to-end, even while it moves within the service. It offers advanced security with role-based administration and granular node-level access controls for our enterprise customers’ most sensitive data. The Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise databases, as well as service components, are deployed in a separate Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) with dedicated cloud infrastructure so customers’ data is isolated and secure.

Reliable
Aura is built on the same battle-tested Neo4j platform used in thousands of mission-critical production systems among leading brands today. The AuraDB cloud service is always on with a 99.95% uptime guarantee. It defaults to a 3-node self-healing cluster across three AWS availability zones that helps it recover from any failure, without service interruption or degradation.

Levi Strauss & Co. is one of the world’s largest brand-name apparel companies and a global leader in jeanswear. With agility and sustainability as one of their core company values, Levi’s wanted a service that matches their data-first, analytics-first mindset. Debdulal Mahanty, Director, Digital Technologies of Levi Strauss & Co., explained why Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise was chosen to drive agility, sustainability, and product development efficiencies.

“Neo4j has been our partner in digital transformation for almost three years, during which we have deployed six impactful applications to streamline our go-to-market processes. At Levi Strauss & Co., we have a passion for solving challenging business problems and increasing our agility across our operations. With Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise, we’re able to reduce application build time and take advantage of the power of self-service databases with none of the database management overhead.”

The Orchard is a leading music distribution company in the music industry, revolutionizing the way artists market, distribute, and monetize their content. Jacob Fowler, Chief Technology Officer at The Orchard, explained why his team has chosen to partner with Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise running on AWS to support their complex user permissions and metadata modeling architecture.

“We recognized from the start that our business needed to solve a connected data problem – the management of complex interrelationships between artists, albums, sound recordings, labels, managers, and employees, making this partnership with Neo4j a perfect fit,” said Fowler. “With Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise, we’ve built a scalable, cloud-based knowledge graph to visualize, analyze, and navigate the way our organization manages its various interconnected entities. Now, we can effectively manage our costs with transparent pricing, leaving us free to focus our efforts on running our business, not running a graph database.”

Neo4j AuraDB Enterprise on AWS is an important milestone for us to make Neo4j graph technology easily and universally available. We can’t wait to see what you build and how you make your system smarter and more powerful with AuraDB.
