#GraphCast: Follow the Money

Welcome to this week’s #GraphCast – our series featuring what you might have missed in Neo4j media from the past fortnight.

Last time, our content chief, Bryce Merkl Sasaki, highlighted an intro video on deploying the Neo4j graph database on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), which means more time for data relationships and less time keeping house!

Learn how the Paradise Papers are still turning up results.

This week, I’d like to turn everyone’s attention back to the ICIJ Paradise Papers. Why?It’s important to note this investigation is still revealing connections/smoking guns in the secretive world of offshore financing.

On July 18, 2019, the ICIJ posted an article claiming “fresh revelations” that Jeffrey Epstein’s offshore fortune was traced to the Paradise Papers.

I’m now going rogue with a non-Neo4j produced video, but it’s one that gives an insider perspective into this major leak and how enormous reams of data were analyzed using Neo4j and graph visualization tool Linkurious.

As one person in this documentary put it, “… We’ve gone from Woodward and Bernstein to geeks looking at vast data sets.” Godspeed, data journalists. Follow the money.
