Building Open Source Desktop GIS Plugins With QGIS, Python, and Neo4j
The open-source geospatial computing ecosystem thrives because of the many extensions and plugins that make it possible to work with data and analysis toolkits across different platforms. In this session we will take a look at the process of building a plugin for the preeminent open-source desktop GIS tool: QGIS. We will see how to build plugins for QGIS through the lens of “Quantum Graph” a QGIS plugin for the Neo4j graph database. We will discuss motivations for the plugin, the use cases it enables for spatial data analysis and visualization, the PyQGIS API, and building UI elements with Qt in Python.
