Diving into Graph with Andrés Ortiz and Sefik Ilkin Serengil

We are meeting in person, once again! This time it’s at Microsoft Reactor in the center of London.
We are super excited to welcome Sefik Ilkin Serengil to talk about his use of graph technologies to enhance facial recognition and Andrés Ortiz to discuss the GraphQL library for Neo4j.

Talk #1: We will see a brief introduction to the GraphQL library for Neo4j with a live example of building a GraphQL server for your Neo4j database, and testing it with the GraphQL toolbox, as well as some of the built-in features of the GraphQL for Neo4j library.

Speaker: Andrés Ortiz (@angrykoala on GitHub) is a software developer on the GraphQL team at Neo4j since 2020 and an open source software contributor. He is also an amateur magician, and enjoys cataloguing the beers he tries in his own database.

Talk #2 : Facial recognition models have already reached and surpassed human level accuracy. While traditional approaches to facial recognition are deficient in some aspects, we can use graphs help us to discover hidden relationships. In this workshop, we use a DeepFace and Neo4j pair to get an excellent score in facial recognition.

Speaker: Sefik Ilkin Serengil received his MSC in Computer Science from Galatasaray University in 2011. Currently, he is a software engineer at Vorboss, London. He posts machine learning and programming tutorials in his personal blog (sefiks.com). He has also contributed to many open source projects such as DeepFace, RetinaFace and ChefBoost.
