Entrepreneur and Investor Ola Rollén Joins Neo4j Board of Directors

MALMO, SWEDEN – February 13, 2024Neo4j®, the graph database and analytics leader, announced today that Ola Rollén has been appointed to the company’s Board of Directors.

The Swedish entrepreneur and business leader is the founder of the investment company Greenbridge, which is already an investor in Neo4j. He is currently serving as the Chairman of the measurement technology company Hexagon, of which he was the CEO between the years 2000 and 2022.

The appointment of Ola Rollén as a new board member comes at an exciting time for Neo4j, as the rapid progress in Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has created a unique opportunity for graph technology which helps improve its accuracy, transparency and explainability whilst reducing hallucinations. The change also comes at a time when the company is making great progress with its mission to help customers make sense of their data, including more than 75% of the Fortune 100, by quickly finding hidden relationships and patterns across billions of data connections.

"It was very easy to say yes when I was asked to join Neo4j’s board. I am already very familiar with the company due to my role as an investor, and I have closely witnessed the accelerating global adoption of graph technology alongside the company’s rapid growth,” said Ola Rollén. “This is a natural step for me, and I look forward to continuing Neo4j’s great work alongside the rest of the board."

With his extensive career in building world-leading companies and as a recognized CEO and entrepreneur internationally, Ola will contribute valuable knowledge and expertise to the board’s work.

"It’s great to now welcome Ola to the board at Neo4j. His deep experience and his shared belief in the power of graph technology, is a positive and valuable addition during a time when Neo4j is reshaping the database market, driving better GenAI and analytics outcomes for our customers,” said Emil Eifrém, founder and CEO of Neo4j.

In December 2023, Neo4j was named a Visionary in the 2023 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud Database Management Systems (DBMS) among 19 other recognized global DBMS vendors.  The company last year added native vector search within its core database capabilities and announced strategic integrations with Google Cloud Vertex AI and AWS Bedrock that increase GenAI performance and prevent hallucinations.
