How Go and Neo4j enabled the FT to Deliver at Speed: In late 2015 the FT Semantic Metadata team decided to investigate using a graph database as an alternative to, or perhaps additional store for their existing tripple store. After a brief spike we picked Neo4J and over the past few months we have re-written a host of microservices in GoLang (from surprisingly memory hungry Java services). It’s been an interesting journey in technology, culture and techniques which is nearing its first destination. Come and hear about our journey, what we learnt and our reflections on switching technologies in our microservices devops world.
