Graphs 4 COVID-19 “GraphHack”
The Graphs 4 COVID-19 “GraphHack” initiative launched as a result of the pandemic and escalating spread of the virus. The global economy and healthcare infrastructure systems have been impacted in an unimaginable way over the past year. We have never needed the support of one another as much as we’ve needed it over this last year and a half.
The hackathon was about unity, collaboration, and positive contribution, and ultimately… establishing how we can work together to help the world! From March 26 to April 15, 2020,
Neo4j invited the community – including developers, data scientists, researchers, and other practitioners around the world – to collaborate and help fight against the spread of COVID-19.
Providing resources and support, Neo4j saw various projects related to the global pandemic, including ones on disease, vaccine, and drug research, contact tracing, misinformation graphs, and much more.
Neo4j’s Graphs4Good Program
The initiative was launched through
Neo4j’s Graphs4Good Program, which was established in 2018 with a goal of helping the world make sense of data. With this program, developers around the world are given access to
Neo4j’s open source tool and are connected with others who work with data so they’re more effective and successful.
Through Graphs4Good, developers are:
-
- Provided with access to our commercial offerings at no cost
- Given the mentorship they need to get started
- Connected with like-minded people
- Given access to useful datasets
- Provided with support to showcase their work and get the word out
