This Week in Neo4j: GraphAcademy, Knowledge Graph, Neo4j Recap, Hypermode and more

Welcome to This Week in Neo4j, your fix for news from the world of graph databases!
We are happy to announce the release of a new ebook, “The Developer’s Guide: How to Build a Knowledge Graph”. Besides, this episode has the latest updated Neo4j Fundamentals GraphAcademy Course, a look back at all the product updates to Neo4j and Aura in 2024 and Neo4j support for AI apps in Modus.

GRAPHACADEMY: Neo4j Fundamentals
Our GraphAcademy Team is hard at work, and besides writing new courses, they are constantly updating existing courses. Just recently, Neo4j Fundamentals was updated and now includes new content and exercises. It is a great course to start your graph journey—you will explore a Neo4j database, learn the basics of the query language Cypher, and use Cypher to read and write data in Neo4j.

KNOWLEDGE GRAPH: The Developer’s Guide: How to Build a Knowledge Graph
Jennifer Reif, John Stegeman and Damaso Sanoja wrote this guide on Knowledge Graphs. It shows you the top use cases for Knowledge Graphs and how to build one step-by-step – from the basics of graph data modeling to querying.

NEO4J: Neo4j in 2024: Delivering on Our Vision of Cloud-First Graph Technology
Sudhir Hasbe looks back at 2024 when key developments included the introduction of a parallel runtime for faster analytical queries, a new block storage format to reduce I/O operations, advanced security features and improved scalability for AuraDB. Additionally, we launched tools to accelerate AI innovation through GraphRAG, combining knowledge graphs with retrieval-augmented generation to improve GenAI application accuracy.

HYPERMODE: Announcing Neo4j Support for Modus
After completing a successful hackathon, the team at Hypermode also announced Neo4j support in its Modus framework. This integration allows for combining LLMs with knowledge graphs, enhancing semantic structure and domain-specific context in AI applications.

POST OF THE WEEK: Eric Ries

In this episode of The Eric Ries Show, I’m joined by Emil Eifrem, Co-Founder and CEO of Neo4j, an open-source graph database. Neo4j enables organizations to unlock the business value of connections, influences, and relationships in data.
