This is the public preview documentation of Neo4j Virtual Graph. To provide feedback, please use the feedback form you were granted access to.

During the public preview, we advise you not to use sensitive or production data with Virtual Graph.

Virtual Graph can be run outside of Aura. When run on a self-managed instance, Virtual Graph requires additional libraries (JDBC drivers) and configuration.

As of Neo4j Enterprise Edition 2026.10, a single DBMS can contain one Virtual Graph database, and multiple standard or composite databases.

The Virtual Graph database must be named neo4j. If your DBMS already has a standard database with that name, rename the existing database or deploy Virtual Graph on a new DBMS. See Enabling Virtual Graph for details.
